Ahmed Al-Kaisey is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist who is passionate about providing holistic and evidence based treatments for heart rhythm disorders to his patients.

Ahmed specialises in the management of heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and ventricular arrhythmias. He also implants and manages cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders.

Ahmed completed his cardiology training at Austin Health before undertaking a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He recently completed a 12 months clinical fellowship at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.

Ahmed completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne focusing on understanding the mechanisms of atrial fibrillation. He was supported by the prestigious National Heart Foundation/National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarships. He has authored over 40 peer reviewed papers in high impact journals and won several awards at local and international conferences.

Dr. Issam Muteir is a Consultant Physician with extensive experience in managing complex general medical and cardiovascular conditions, including a special interest in autonomic cardiovascular dysfunction. He currently consults at My Heart Cardiology Group – Coburg, with services also available in Warragul through Baw Baw Physicians.

Dr. Muteir is the founder of Cardiovascular Autonomic Function Testing (CAFT) and the MAP Clinic (Medical Assessment of Postural Intolerance & Syncope) — the first of their kind in regional Victoria and among only a few in Australia. These services provide structured, physician-led evaluation for conditions such as POTS, orthostatic intolerance, unexplained syncope, and post-COVID autonomic syndromes.

He also welcomes referrals for general cardiology and complex internal medicine, particularly for Arabic-speaking patients, where language and cultural insight significantly enhance care.

Training & Background
Dr. Muteir graduated from Al-Nahrain University (Baghdad) in 2000 and completed his initial physician training in Iraq before moving to Australia. He began his Australian career at Charles Sturt University, conducting research in cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy and teaching as an Associate Lecturer in community health.

He went on to complete specialist training in General and Acute Medicine through Western Health and Monash Health.

Dr Samer Noaman is an interventional cardiologist and researcher. He performs coronary and valvular heart interventions in addition to general cardiology practice. He speaks fluently in English and Arabic languages.

He graduated with honours from Baghdad University in Iraq in 2008 and undertook Physician and Cardiology training at Western and Alfred Health in Victoria. He completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne focusing on improving the outcomes and recovery of patients following heart attacks and investigated the current role of coronary physiology in clinical practice. He has published in several peer-re
viewed journals and presented at multiple national and international conferences.

He undertook sub-specialty fellowship training in structural heart disease interventions at the Alfred Hospital and won the prestigious Geoff Mews Memorial Fellows Prize for his work in cardiogenic shock advanced therapies in 2020.

Dr Noaman performs procedures at Epworth Richmond Hospital, Western Health and Alfred Health.

Dr. Omar Al-Mukhtar is Australian-trained cardiologist based in Melbourne who specialises in general, interventional, and structural heart diseases.

Dr. Al-Mukhtar worked and trained in various high-profile hospitals in Victoria and obtained the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) fellowship in cardiology in 2020. To further sub-specialise in interventional and structural heart interventions, he undertook three clinical fellowships at Western Health (2021), Monash Heart (2022), and the Victorian Heart Hospital (2023).

Omar is also interested in clinical research and clinical trials for new therapies and technologies in the area of cardiovascular medicine. He completed a master’s degree in clinical trials research from the University of Sydney in 2022 and participated in recruitment for many international clinical trials. He also published research articles in peer-reviewed international journals and is involved with the education of junior doctors in the field of cardiology. In 2018, Omar launched the BPT Cardiology course which is one of Australia’s few privately managed cardiology-focused physician education courses.

He is available to provide consultations on patients with a wide variety of clinical concerns, including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, cardiovascular risk assessment, hypertension, lipid disorders, and valvular/structural heart disease.

Since 2018, Dr. Al-Mukhtar has performed thousands of cardiac procedures, and he currently performs procedures at Epworth Richmond Hospital, Victorian Heart Hospital, Northern Private Hospital, Footscray Hospital, and Sunshine Hospital.

Dr Nigel Sutherland is a Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist with subspecialty expertise in the management of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He is committed to providing high-quality, empathetic, patient focused care, with clear and effective communication.

Nigel completed his medical studies at the University of Melbourne graduating with distinction (MD Distinction). He was appointed to the Dean’s Honours List for outstanding achievement and received numerous prizes and awards including the Florey Ingrid Sheffer Award and the Austin Clinical School Award, awarded to the top placed student at the Austin Clinical School (University of Melbourne).

He undertook his specialist cardiology training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, MonashHeart and Northern Health. Following this he completed advanced fellowship subspecialising in advanced cardiac imaging at Alfred Health including Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI. During this time he took part in cutting edge research related to Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.

Upon completion of his subspeciality training, Nigel was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Northern Health and Northern Imaging Victoria, where he is the Clinical Lead in Cardiac Imaging (CT / MRI). He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Alfred Health in the quaternary Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic.

Currently, he combines his clinical practice with cardiology research, particularly focused on the use of Cardiac MRI in genetic cardiomyopathies and advanced echocardiography (Strain / 3D). He is widely published and has presented both nationally and at international conferences winning the ACC 2023 /WCC Heart Tank for the Cardiovascular Investigator (CHD).

Nigel is experienced in all areas of cardiology, with particular interest in cardiovascular imaging , cardiomyopathies including hypertrophic and familial cardiomyopathies, cardiovascular risk prediction, myocardial disease and cardiac care of cancer patients.
